Quote X-Ray IQ: see what is really inside your window and door quotes
Drop in one, two or three quotations from any supplier. We read every line, line the openings up one by one, normalize the units and the performance numbers, and show what each quote includes, leaves out or never mentions. Apples to apples. Finally.
Quotes are read automatically. Treat the comparison as a guide and confirm anything that matters against the original document.
About Quote X-Ray IQ
Upload one to three window and door quotations (PDF, photo or Excel) from any supplier and compare them line by line: openings, quantities, prices, scope, performance and the fine print. Free, no login.
Who it is for
Homeowners, architects, builders and developers who have quotes from several window and door suppliers and need to know whether the prices really cover the same thing.
How it works
- Upload one quote to check it for gaps, or two or three to compare them.
- The tool reads each document: openings, sizes, quantities, unit prices, glazing, U-factor, SHGC, sound rating, warranty, lead time, payment terms, exclusions.
- It matches the openings across quotes by schedule mark or by size, and flags any opening a quote leaves out or quotes in a different quantity.
- It normalizes units (inches and millimetres, Btu and W/m²K) and prices per opening and per square foot.
- A 34-item scope checklist shows what each quote includes, excludes or does not state: installation, delivery to site, crane, screens, flashing, duties, taxes, warranty and more.
Frequently asked questions
How do I compare two window quotes fairly?
Line them up opening by opening and check the scope, not just the total. Two quotes for the same house can differ in installation, delivery to site, insect screens, glazing (double or triple), hardware, warranty and import duties. Quote X-Ray IQ does this automatically and shows what each quote would need to add before the totals mean the same thing.
What do window quotes usually leave out?
The most common gaps are installation, delivery to the job site (versus to a port or warehouse), crane or lifting for large doors, insect screens, flashing and sealing, removal of existing windows, permits, import duties and sales tax. A missing line is not free; it usually becomes a change order.
Why is one window quote so much cheaper than another?
Usually because it covers less: fewer openings, supply only instead of installed, double instead of triple glazing, no screens, or delivery only to a port. Compare the price per opening only after the scope matches.
Can I compare a European window quote with a North American one?
Yes. The tool converts millimetres to inches and W/m²K to Btu/h·ft²·°F, and flags when U-factors come from different test standards (CEN in Europe, NFRC in North America).
Is Quote X-Ray IQ free and private?
It is free and needs no login. Uploaded files are read only to build the comparison and are not stored or shared.
